Presentation to Pre-U Geography Teachers

Ms Melissa Low, ESI Research Fellow was invited by the Geography Unit, Curriculum Planning and Development Division 2, Ministry of Education Singapore to present to 50 Pre-University Geography teachers on 22 May 2019. This was part of the Pre-U H1-H2 Geography Syllabus Mid-Term Review briefing to teachers held at Saint Andrews Junior College. Melissa presented on “Sustainable Development and Climate Change”, and shared that the Energy Studies Institute, NUS will be partnering MOE to offer a professional development opportunity for teachers at the upcoming Climate Change Negotiations Training Workshop for Youth and Educators, to be held from August-September 2019. Melissa was later joined by Mr Josef Tan and Ms Regina Zhou Senior Specialist and Curriculum Resource Development Officer, Geography Unit, Curriculum Planning and Development Division 2 of MOE for a panel discussion on the updated Pre-U H1-H2 Geography Syllabus, which will feature more on sustainable development, climate change and energy.
